Call for scholarships

Erasmus Mundus Master's Degree in Women's and Gender Studies (GEMMA) Fourth Edition (2010-2012)

Category A Scholarships for third country (non-EU) students and grants for third country visiting scholars

The Research Centre for Women's Studies at the University of Granada is pleased to inform that the GEMMA Erasmus Mundus scholarship application period for third country (non-EU) students and scholars to take part in its fourth edition (2010-2012) is open until 31 December 2009.

GEMMA is a joint European Master in Women's and Gender Studies selected by the European Commission as an Erasmus Mundus master of excellence and co-ordinated by the University of Granada (Spain).

This inter-university and interdisciplinary programme is addressed to students interested in Women's Studies, Gender Studies, and Equal Opportunities Policies. It provides a unique opportunity to acquire professional qualifications in these areas at two prestigious European universities and to obtain a double Master's Degree from these institutions according to the mobility route chosen by the student.

Scholarships:
Category A: Scholarships for Third Country students which cover installation costs (4.000 Euros per academic year), the tuition fees and insurance, as well as personal expenses (a monthly allowance of 1.000 Euros). Application deadline: 31 December Category B: Scholarships for European students which cover the tuition fees and insurance, as well as personal expenses (a monthly allowance of 500 Euros). Application deadline: 30 April
Scholars: Third Country scholars can apply for research visits at GEMMA European institutions, for periods of time between 2 weeks and 3 months. The grant is calculated on the basis of 1.200 Euros per week. Application deadline: first call deadline 31 December, second call deadline 30 April.

Application form can be found at the GEMMA webpage together with all the necessary instructions. The deadlines for the fourth edition of GEMMA programme are as follows:

- For third country students applying for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship (Category A): 31 December 2009 (hard copy of the application with all accompanying documents must be received before January 10, 2010)

- For European students applying for the Erasmus Mundus scholarship (Category B): April 30, 2010.

Scholars applying for the Erasmus Mundus visiting professors grants: first call: 31 December 2009, second call: 30 April 2010.
