Applications are invited for a two-year postdoctoral position to
design and implement an interdisciplinary undergraduate course,
shared between the Departments of Sociology and the Department of
Social Anthropology on ‘Gender, kinship and caring’, to conduct their
own original research – which should represent a substantial
intellectual advance in the field of gender, kinship and caring – and
to work closely with colleagues to design and implement research
strategies that will promote and develop the University of Cambridge
as a centre of excellence for the anthropology and sociology of
gender, kinship and care. The Fellow will be expected to work closely
with mentors and colleagues in both departments.
Applicants must have a PhD in Anthropology, Sociology, or a related
discipline, or be of equivalent postdoctoral standing. They should
demonstrate, in a covering letter, their teaching experience, their
ability to effectively design an interdisciplinary course, and how
the research they would conduct whilst at Cambridge represents a
major advance in the specified fields of enquiry.

*Limit of tenure: 2 years. The start date will be 1 October 2009 and
